The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer at Bright, you will be a key technical contributor within the BrightChecks team. This role will focus on developing high-quality, scalable solutions using C# both on the backend with Javascript on the front end. You will be using a modern toolchain that includes Azure services and Kubernetes to build and host what you produce. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a dynamic cross-functional team to deliver impactful projects that are core to driving the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain web-based applications and services ensuring robust and efficient performance.
Appropriately test and document the code you write.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, QAs and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Work with the team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices in software engineering.
Identify opportunities to improve development practices, tools, code health and maintainability in collaboration with the wider engineering community.
Configure builds and automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments.
Foster a collaborative environment by working closely within cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Software engineering experience with a focus on API design and development
Deep expertise in C# .NET for building production APIs and services
Strong SQL skills including database design, optimization, and query performance
Proven experience building RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications

Core Technical skills (must-have):

C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API
Entity Framework Core
SQL Server

Preferred Technical Skills (nice-to-have):

Clean Architecture and general architectural patterns
RESTful API design
Working knowledge of Azure
Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (React / Angular / Vue.js)
