About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who can build, scale, and optimize the backbone of our HealthTech platform.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with ownership, speed, and a desire to create meaningful human impact through technology.

You will work on complex engineering problems, build high-performance services using Node.js, and own backend modules end-to-end — from design to deployment — in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices using Node.js and frameworks such as Express or Nest.js.
• Own modules end-to-end: architecture → implementation → testing → deployment.
• Write clean, modular, optimized, and testable code with a strong emphasis on performance and maintainability.
• Design efficient data models for relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Implement caching strategies, background jobs, and queue-based processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.).
• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, especially under high load.
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct RCA, and strengthen system stability.
• Partner with DevOps for CI/CD, deployment automation, and environment management.
• Work closely with product, mobile, operations, and AI teams to convert requirements into high-quality backend features.
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, best practices, and continuous improvement of the codebase.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, asynchronous programming patterns, and REST API design.
• Proficiency in TypeScript (preferred).
• Strong understanding of:
• Data modeling
• Queues & async processing
• Redis caching
• API optimization
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and at least one NoSQL database (MongoDB/DynamoDB/Redis).
• Experience with messaging/queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or similar).
• Familiarity with Docker, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to AWS or cloud-native infrastructure.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and performance tuning skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, startup environment.
