Senior Backend Engineer (Python) High-Impact Startup Role

We’re working with a fast-growing, mission-driven startup building in the healthcare space. They’re a small, high-calibre team (Less than 10 engineers) looking to hire their next engineer someone who can take real ownership and move fast.

This is a backend-leaning full-stack role, ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to have a direct impact on product and engineering decisions.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and scaling backend systems in Python
• Working across the stack when needed (TypeScript / React)
• Shipping quickly in a low-process, high-ownership environment
• Collaborating closely with a tight-knit engineering team
• Contributing to architecture, product decisions, and technical direction

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in software engineering (backend-leaning)
• Strong experience with Python in production
• Background in early-stage startups (Pre-Seed → Series B/C preferred)
• Comfortable working across the stack
• Experience with AWS, Docker (nice to have)
• Exposure to LLMs / Generative AI (a plus)
• Strong communication skills and ability to take ownership
• Genuine interest in healthcare / healthtech
