We are seeking an Senior Software Developer II to help drive the evolution of our Enterprise Services and API ecosystem within the Information Technology (IT) organization. Our IT teams build modern, scalable platforms that enable business growth and digital transformation across W&SFG. We prioritize cloud-native design, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, enterprise-scale initiatives while influencing technical direction and modernization strategy.
What would I do?
As an Senior Software Developer II, you will join the Enterprise Integration and API Services team, playing a key role in building and modernizing cloud-native microservices and APIs. You will act as a senior technical contributor and thought leader, collaborating across teams to accelerate the organization’s transition to modern, cloud-first architectures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop cloud-native microservices using C# (.NET Core) and Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure App Services.
- Modernize legacy .NET applications into scalable, distributed microservices architectures.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs using OpenAPI specifications and integrate with Azure API Gateway.
- Containerize applications using Docker and deploy to AKS or Azure App Services.
- Implement event-driven architectures using Confluent Kafka.
- Utilize MongoDB for document-based data storage.
- Implement secure service-to-service communication using OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
- Design for scalability, resiliency, performance, and high availability.
- Implement monitoring and logging using Elastic and related observability tools.
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET Core.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Azure App Services, and Azure API Gateway.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or MongoDB.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, or Elastic.
Plus:
- Experience designing and building microservices architectures using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of web services, networking, and identity/access management.
- Experience supporting production workloads in Azure.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.
- Knowledge of Azure Functions and serverless architectures.
