Senior Shopify Developer (Budget 14-18LPA)

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Shopify Developer to join our development team. This role focuses on building extremely custom Shopify storefronts using headless Shopify and Shopify Plus, leveraging your expertise in back-end development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both Shopify?s API and advanced customization features, along with a strong understanding of our tech stack (vanilla JS with PHP or Next.js with Node). Key Responsibilities : Shopify Development : Lead the creation of custom Shopify stores, with a focus on back-end development, using headless Shopify and Shopify Plus features. API Integration : Design and implement integrations with third-party services and APIs, ensuring seamless connections to external systems, including payment gateways, CRMs, and inventory management. Custom Storefront Development : Build highly customized Shopify storefronts, extending the capabilities of Shopify's headless eCommerce model to meet unique client needs. Backend Solutions : Work with Node.js and PHP in conjunction with Shopify?s backend to develop and optimize server-side features for large-scale, performance-driven websites. Performance Optimization : Ensure optimal site performance, fast load times, and scalable architecture that can handle traffic spikes and high conversion rates. Client Collaboration : Work closely with clients and project managers to understand business goals, providing technical guidance to deliver bespoke eCommerce solutions. Technical Leadership : Mentor junior developers and guide best practices for code quality, scalability, and maintainability. Maintenance & Troubleshooting : Provide ongoing support for existing Shopify stores, handling issues promptly and ensuring the continued smooth operation of client websites. Required Skills & Qualifications : Experience : 5+ years of back-end development experience, with a strong portfolio of custom Shopify projects, particularly in headless Shopify and Shopify Plus. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Liquid , PHP , and Node.js . Experience with Shopify?s headless architecture and Shopify Plus capabilities. Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks like Next.js . Strong understanding of Shopify?s APIs and GraphQL for custom integrations. Expertise in back-end optimization, including caching strategies, server management, and database optimization. Experience with Git for version control. Solid knowledge of SEO best practices for Shopify stores. Frontend Skills : While this role does not require frontend development, familiarity with basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for collaborating with frontend developers is a plus. Soft Skills : Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients. Detail-oriented, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. Ability to mentor and guide junior team members effectively. Strong project management skills to handle multiple deadlines and priorities. Preferred Qualifications : Experience with other eCommerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce, Magento) is a plus. Experience with serverless architecture or cloud technologies like AWS or Azure. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies . Certification in Shopify development or related technologies.
