About the Role

QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for functional and load testing a real-time communications platform. Additional responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

• Verifying accurate data collection from distributed network nodes
• Programming simulation of specific functional test cases and load tests
• Requiring a mindset of “I will understand this software completely and exercise all functionality in an attempt to break it”
• Identifying edge cases, timing issues and bad/incomplete data sets, are all expected

Qualifications

Over 4 to 8 years of solid experience with simulation, scripting and debugging, working with:

• SIPP simulator, Landslide
• Bash scripting
• UNIX tools (grep, tcpdump, Wireshark, ssh/sftp/scp)
• MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
• Advanced UNIX tools such as sed, awk, gdb and pstack
• Advanced Python scripting
• Perl scripting
• Tool Command Language (TCL) scripting is a plus.
• Automation frameworks Selenium, Playwright, Pytest etc.
• HTTP test tools including postman, Insomnia etc.
• CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge and working experience with a telecommunications company and related services is a significant plus.

Preferred Skills

• The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
• Strong preference for candidates with strong knowledge of Mobile Network signalling (MAP, GTP, Diameter etc).
• Strong hands-on working knowledge of VoIP protocols, including SIP/SIP-IMS.
