About The Role

We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise in both Manual and Automation Testing. This role goes beyond traditional testing—you will play a key part in building a robust quality ecosystem using modern tools and practices.

Key Responsibilities

(Priority: High) Translate business requirements into clear, testable scenarios and detailed test cases; ensure each feature has traceability to requirements and maintain >=95% test-case coverage for high-impact user stories within each sprint.

(Priority: High) Execute Manual Testing (Functional, Regression, Integration, System) with defined acceptance criteria; aim for test execution completion within sprint scope and maintain a defect leakage rate to production of <2% per quarter.

(Priority: High) Develop, maintain, and execute automation scripts using Python; increase automated regression coverage to at least 70% within the first 6 months and add automation for all critical flows prior to release.

(Priority: High) Identify, document, and track defects using standard tools; triage and assign severity within 24 hours and target a median defect resolution turnaround time of

(Priority: Medium) Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Managers, and QA teams to clarify requirements, unblock issues, and ensure acceptance criteria are met; attend daily stand-ups and provide clear testing status updates.

(Priority: Medium) Lead requirement analysis, test planning, and test case reviews; organize and run test-case review sessions at least once per sprint and maintain test-case review completion rate of >90% before development completion.

(Priority: High) Continuously enhance QA processes and improve automation coverage; propose process improvements, measure their impact (e.g., reduced cycle time, fewer regressions), and implement those with cross-functional agreement.

(Priority: Medium) Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-functional discussions; provide input on testing effort estimates and help prioritize test activities based on risk assessment.

(Priority: High) Manage defect triage and coordinate with development teams for resolution; maintain a clear defect lifecycle and weekly reporting on open defects, aging defects, and trends.

(Priority: High) Proactively identify edge cases and potential production issues through exploratory testing and risk analysis; reduce production incidents related to regression by 30% year-over-year.

(Priority: High) Coordinate release processes and ensure quality gates are met (smoke test pass rate, automation regression pass threshold, and sign-off criteria); prevent releases unless critical quality criteria are satisfied.

Automation Expertise

• Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks (PyTest / Selenium)
• Implement best practices, design patterns, and CI/CD integrations
• Monitor and troubleshoot nightly automation runs
• Independently design, debug, and enhance test frameworks
  
  

API & Database Testing

• Perform REST API testing using tools like Postman
• Conduct contract testing and functional validation
• Write complex SQL queries for validating data pipelines and migrations
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software testing concepts and QA methodologies
• Proven experience in writing test cases and scenarios
• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a “break-it” mindset
