Overview of Role 66degrees is seeking a skilled Senior Python Middleware Developer ? AI Agent Enablement with 5 to 8 years of experience. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and implementing high-performance middleware components that connect front-end applications with backend services, AI/ML models, and databases. You will work on building scalable microservices, enabling seamless integration with AI agents, and ensuring optimal performance in enterprise-scale environments. Responsibilities ? Design and develop middleware services to bridge front-end systems, backend services, AI/ML models, and data sources. ? Build and manage scalable microservices using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django. ? Develop APIs and orchestration layers to process, transform, and route data efficiently. ? Integrate AI agents, inference endpoints, and third-party APIs into middleware pipelines. ? Ensure middleware reliability, low latency, and performance optimization. ? Manage inter-service communication via REST, gRPC, WebSockets, or messaging systems like Kafka. ? Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes). ? Maintain high-quality documentation and coding standards for reusable, scalable solutions. Qualifications ? 5?8 years of experience in Python programming with strong middleware and API development expertise. ? Proficient in FastAPI, Flask, or Django frameworks. ? Hands-on experience in middleware concerns: logging, error handling, request validation, and security. ? Strong understanding of RESTful architecture, API gateway design, and authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys). ? Experience with asynchronous programming (asyncio, aiohttp) and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ). ? Hands-on experience with Docker and working knowledge of Kubernetes. ? Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for scalable deployments. ? Knowledge of AI/ML model serving and integration pipelines (preferred). Nice to Have ? Experience with LLM-based AI agents, LangChain, or vector databases. ? Exposure to observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack. ? Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms or workflow engines (e.g., Airflow, Temporal). Soft Skills ? Excellent communication and collaboration skills. ? Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently. ? Agile and delivery-focused, comfortable working in fast-paced product cycles.
