Job Summary

We are actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Project Engineer specializing in HVAC systems to join our growing team in Coimbatore. This role is ideal for a professional with 5-7 years of significant experience in managing and executing large-scale HVAC projects, particularly within demanding sectors like hospitals, factories, and IT Parks. A comprehensive and proven understanding of chiller plant operations, including design, installation, and optimization, is a mandatory requirement. You will play a critical role in overseeing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that all HVAC installations are delivered efficiently, meet stringent quality standards, and align with budget and timeline constraints.

Key Responsibilities

*Advanced Project Planning & Strategy:*
Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, intricate schedules, and detailed budgets for complex HVAC installations, with a specific emphasis on hospital, factory, and IT Park environments.
Collaborate extensively with clients, consultants, architects, and internal teams to meticulously define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
Proactively identify potential project risks, develop robust mitigation strategies, and manage changes to ensure smooth project progression.
Prepare and present high-level project status reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management and key stakeholders.
*Specialized Technical Leadership & Design Optimization:*
Provide expert review and critical analysis of HVAC system designs, drawings, and specifications, offering valuable insights for performance enhancement, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.
Demonstrate mandatory, in-depth knowledge and practical experience in the design, selection, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of *chiller plant systems*.
Ensure all project designs and execution strictly adhere to national and international industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, ISHRAE, local building and environmental codes).
*Rigorous Site Management & Execution Oversight:*
Directly supervise and manage all on-site activities related to HVAC system installation, rigorous testing, and precise commissioning.
Lead and motivate installation teams, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring exemplary quality of work, adherence to safety protocols, and strict compliance with project timelines.
Conduct frequent, detailed site inspections and quality audits to guarantee execution aligns perfectly with approved plans and quality benchmarks.
Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving complex technical challenges and on-site issues promptly and effectively.
*Strategic Material & Resource Procurement:*
Oversee the procurement process for HVAC equipment, specialized materials, and critical components, focusing on optimizing quality, cost-efficiency, and delivery timelines.
Manage and monitor inventory levels and logistics to ensure timely availability of resources, preventing project delays.
Strategically allocate manpower, equipment, and other resources to maximize operational efficiency and productivity across multiple project phases.
*Comprehensive Documentation & Smooth Handover:*
Maintain meticulous and comprehensive project documentation, including daily progress reports, detailed logbooks, change orders, as-built drawings, and operational manuals.
Facilitate seamless project handover processes, including final performance testing, client acceptance, and comprehensive training for client personnel on system operation and preventative maintenance.
Ensure all project close-out procedures are completed thoroughly and accurately, including warranty documentation and final financial settlements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
*Mandatory:* 5-7 years of progressive experience in HVAC project execution and management.
*Essential:* Demonstrated profound knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with *chiller plant systems*, including their design, installation, and operational aspects.
*Highly Preferred:* Extensive track record in successfully managing HVAC projects for challenging environments such as hospitals, manufacturing facilities/factories, and IT Parks.
Advanced understanding of HVAC principles, diverse equipment types, advanced control systems, and energy management strategies.
Exceptional proficiency in reading, interpreting, and red-lining technical drawings, schematics, and detailed specifications.
Proficiency in utilizing project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and relevant engineering tools.
Outstanding communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to lead teams and manage client relationships effectively.
A proactive problem-solver with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment, often managing competing priorities.
Salary:* ₹35,000 - ₹40,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise.)
