Position: Senior Power BI & SQL Developer

Experience: 6+ Years

Location: Hyderabad

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with deep expertise in SQL to support and scale our data analytics and reporting initiatives. This role demands strong hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and managing complex SQL queries in addition to building advanced Power BI dashboards. The ideal candidate will be highly data-driven, performance-focused, and capable of working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports for business-critical insights
Perform complex data modelling and transformations, ensuring optimal performance and scalability
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and joins across large datasets
Use SQL extensively for data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and transformation prior to visualization
Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, with SQL as a core transformation layer
Analyze large datasets using SQL and Power BI to support strategic and operational decision-making
Partner with business users, product teams, and data engineers to translate requirements into scalable reporting solutions
Enforce data quality, reporting standards, and documentation best practices

Essential Requirements:

Power BI

Strong experience building complex dashboards and reports
Expertise in DAX measures, KPIs, and calculated columns
Solid understanding of data modelling (star schema, relationships, performance tuning)

SQL (Core & Mandatory)

Strong hands-on experience with advanced SQL
Expertise in:
Complex joins (INNER, LEFT, RIGHT, FULL)
Subqueries & correlated subqueries
CTEs (Common Table Expressions)
Window functions (ROW_NUMBER, RANK, DENSE_RANK, LAG, LEAD)
Aggregations & grouping logic
Query performance optimization
Experience working with large relational datasets
Ability to debug, refactor, and optimize slow-running queries

Data Engineering

Azure Data Factory – building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines
Strong understanding of data transformation and validation logic

Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for SQL logic, data models, and reports
.NET (Preferred): Experience integrating Power BI solutions with .NET-based applications
