Senior Planning Engineer

About the Role

Participating in supervising all planning and monitoring activities within the project and closely monitoring project execution according to the established plan.

Responsibilities

• Implementing project-specific policies and procedures.
• Implementing initiatives and projects related to project planning and control.
• Analyzing design drawings and contractual documents and developing specific schedules for project implementation in coordination with design teams, construction teams, and other departments within the project.
• Determining the resources required for the project and estimating the expected duration of its completion.
• Updating and developing work schedules and timelines based on design changes or requirements.
• Monitoring the progress of work in the project and updating schedules and necessary reports for project management, planning, and risk management.
• Coordinating with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors and providing them with the necessary information to ensure the timely availability of resources and materials.
• Working on improving planning processes and utilizing the latest project management methods and software tools.
• Coordinating between the various departments involved in project execution, enhancing communication, and rapid and effective exchange of data to accelerate work and anticipate any obstacles that may arise during project implementation.
• Analyzing data and reports related to project execution, estimating potential delays, and recommending necessary actions to keep the project on schedule.
• Participating in the preparation of time-related claims for the project as per contract requirements and management directives.
• Following project management methodology in terms of the availability of raw materials and the necessary workforce and assisting the department manager in developing project implementation plans.
• Guiding and training less experienced engineers in the department to enhance their skills and develop their performance.
• Preparing periodic reports related to project/management activities.
• Supervising the team's work to ensure the achievement of targets and continuous improvement.
• Providing necessary support to the line manager and performing any other assigned tasks within their expertise.
• Monitoring the performance of subcontractors, providing guidance to help them achieve the project's objectives according to the project plan, and participating in reviewing time-related claims submitted by subcontractors to assess their validity and potential impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent

• A certified engineering degree from the Saudi Council of Engineers

• PMP certification is preferred
