Senior Node.js Developer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Node.js Developer with 5–8+ years of software development experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in JavaScript, backend architecture, and experience building high-performance APIs and microservices.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain server-side applications using Node.js
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and QA teams
• Integrate third-party services, APIs, and databases
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Implement security and data protection best practices
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

Required Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of backend development experience, including 3–5+ years with Node.js and strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience building scalable APIs (REST required, GraphQL a plus) and working with asynchronous/event-driven systems
• Hands-on experience with Node.js frameworks (Express.js required, NestJS preferred)
• Solid experience with databases: relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), plus ORM/ODM tools
• Strong understanding of authentication & security (JWT, OAuth, RBAC, API security best practices)
• Experience designing microservices and distributed systems, including caching and messaging (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)
• Proficiency in Git and collaborative development workflows
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha) and writing unit/integration tests
• Strong knowledge of performance optimization, debugging, and monitoring in backend systems
