Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our team in Mohali/Chandigarh. This is a full-time, on-site position for a creative and execution-focused professional who can independently lead luxury residential and commercial interior projects from concept development to final handover. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in independently handling project sites, supervising on-site execution, coordinating with contractors and vendors, resolving execution challenges, and ensuring that every detail is executed as per the approved design, drawings, quality standards, and project timelines. This role requires regular site visits and strong leadership during project execution.

This is not a desk-based design role. The selected candidate is expected to spend a significant amount of time on project sites, ensuring seamless execution and maintaining the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete interior design projects from concept to execution and final handover.
• Develop innovative design concepts, mood boards, space planning, and material palettes.
• Prepare detailed working drawings, construction drawings, furniture layouts, ceiling layouts, electrical layouts, and other technical documentation.
• Create and present high-quality design presentations and 3D visualizations.
• Conduct client meetings, understand project requirements, and confidently present design solutions.
• Prepare BOQs, specifications, project documentation, and material schedules.
• Select materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and décor while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and budget.
• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Independently handle multiple project sites and supervise day-to-day execution to ensure work is completed as per approved drawings, design intent, quality standards, and project timelines.
• Conduct regular site inspections, resolve on-site technical challenges, and provide practical design solutions during execution.
• Monitor project progress, maintain quality control, and ensure timely completion of milestones.
• Review site measurements, shop drawings, fabrication details, and custom furniture before production.
• Mentor junior designers and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Stay updated with industry trends, innovative materials, construction techniques, and luxury interior design practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 4–8 years of professional experience in luxury residential and/or commercial interior design.
• Proven experience managing projects from concept through execution and handover.
• Strong understanding of space planning, design detailing, construction methods, joinery, materials, and technical drawings.
• Minimum 4–8 years of proven experience in independently handling interior project sites from execution to handover.
• Strong experience in site supervision, contractor management, vendor coordination, quality inspections, project scheduling, and execution management is mandatory.
• Experience preparing BOQs, project estimates, and coordinating with vendors and consultants.
• Excellent client management, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Site Handling & Execution (Mandatory)

• Independently manage multiple project sites simultaneously.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor day-to-day progress.
• Supervise contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, and other execution teams.
• Ensure execution strictly follows approved drawings, design intent, and quality standards.
• Resolve on-site design and technical challenges promptly.
• Coordinate material deliveries and installation schedules.
• Verify site measurements before fabrication and execution.
• Conduct quality inspections at every stage of the project.
• Monitor project timelines and ensure timely completion.
• Report project progress to management and clients.
• Ensure finishing quality, workmanship, and snag-free project handover.
