Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and experienced IBM DataStage Developer with strong ETL expertise and hands-on experience migrating DataStage workloads to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D). This role is a blend of supporting existing DataStage environments and leading the modernization journey to CP4D.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders—especially within Collections operations—to deliver reliable, high-quality data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

ETL Development & Support

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support robust ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage.
• Maintain and enhance existing DataStage jobs to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Move data from multiple source systems into data warehouses and analytical platforms.

Business Data Collaboration (Collections Domain)

• Partner closely with Collections business teams to understand:
• Customer account data
• Payments and delinquencies
• Recovery processes
• Compliance and regulatory reporting needs
• Translate business requirements into efficient ETL and data transformation logic.

CP4D Migration Leadership

• Actively participate in and contribute to the migration of DataStage jobs to IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D).
• Analyze existing DataStage jobs to understand:
• Business logic
• Job dependencies
• Data flows and transformations
• Re-platform or refactor ETL workflows using DataStage on CP4D.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges related to CP4D migration.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and performance throughout the migration process.
• Support post-migration validation and stabilization activities.

SQL & Data Quality

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support ETL logic, validations, and reconciliations.
• Perform data quality checks and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise data standards and governance policies.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage.
• Direct, hands-on experience migrating DataStage workloads to CP4D.
• 5+ years of strong SQL experience, including complex query writing and optimization.
• Solid understanding of ETL design patterns and best practices.
• Experience working with data warehouses and analytical platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with large-scale data modernization initiatives.
• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and enterprise data governance.
• Strong communication skills for business and technical collaboration.
