Job Title: Senior Executive – Inventory Verification & Stock Audit
Department: Commercial / Internal Audit
Experience Required: 3 – 5 Years
Location: As per Company Requirement (Frequent Travel to Stores & Warehouses)
Job Purpose
The role is responsible for conducting inventory verification and stock audits at company stores and warehouses through surprise visits, ensuring accuracy of stock records, compliance with internal processes, and reporting discrepancies directly to the Commercial Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surprise inventory verification and stock audits at company stores and warehouses.
- Verify physical stock vs system stock and identify variances.
- Ensure compliance with inventory management policies and internal control procedures.
- Review stock movement records, GRNs, issue records, and stock registers.
- Validate material handling, storage practices, and stock documentation.
- Identify stock discrepancies, damages, slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting observations, variances, and control gaps.
- Coordinate with store, warehouse, and operations teams during audits.
- Submit audit findings and reports directly to the Commercial Team.
- Follow up on corrective actions and closure of audit observations.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and stock control processes.
- Experience in physical stock verification and warehouse audits.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, basic data analysis and reporting).
- Basic understanding of ERP / Inventory Management Systems.
- Strong analytical and observation skills.
- Ability to conduct independent audits and investigations.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently for surprise audits.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate / Post Graduate in Commerce, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Additional certification in Audit / Inventory Management will be an advantage.
Reporting Structure
- The role will report directly to the Commercial Team / Commercial Head.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in Retail / Garment / Textile / Manufacturing industry.
- Prior experience in stock audit, internal audit, or inventory control.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple store or warehouse locations.
