Your impact

As a Senior – Engineering Application Development for Cloud & Automation, you will design and deliver cloud‑based automation systems that streamline engineering workflows, connect disparate platforms, and support high‑impact digital transformation across Jacobs. You will play a key role in architecting backend services, integrating enterprise and engineering systems, and building scalable cloud‑native tools that enable teams across global delivery centers.

  • Design and build cloud‑hosted automation applications integrating multiple internal and external systems.
  • Develop scalable backend services in a .NET‑first architecture using REST APIs.
  • Deploy and operate applications on Azure, using automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Containerize services and design robust data architectures using SQL and cloud storage.
  • Integrate engineering tools and enterprise systems through APIs and event‑driven patterns.
  • Work with structured and unstructured datasets to enable automation at scale.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.


Here's what you'll need

Required

  • 7 to 10 years of experience with C#/.NET
  • Experience building REST APIs and backend services
  • Hands‑on Azure experience (App Services, Storage, Key Vault, Functions)
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding of API security and secure coding practices
  • Ability to debug integrations and work with monitoring/logging tools


Nice to Have

  • Hands‑on experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Exposure to Terraform/Bicep or other IaC tools
  • Familiarity with event‑driven architectures (Service Bus, Event Grid)
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB/Redis)
  • Experience with ETL or data‑processing workflows
  • Exposure to engineering tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Speckle
