Job Purpose

The Engineer - Plant (Mechanical) (QA N&H) conducts inspections of mechanical components within nacelle and hub assemblies, utilizing precision measurement tools and NDT techniques to ensure compliance with design specifications. This role monitors assembly quality, validates supplier parts, manages documentation, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The position ensures adherence to mechanical QA standards, assists in training inspectors, and collaborates on defect analysis to enhance component quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Component Inspection and Testing

• Conduct inspections of mechanical components used in nacelle and hub assemblies.
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs to ensure components meet specified tolerances.
  
  

Supplier Part Validation

• Inspect incoming mechanical parts from suppliers, verifying material certificates, dimensional accuracy, and surface conditions.
• Report non-conformities to the QA lead and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers to maintain quality standards.
  
  

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain detailed inspection records, including test data, deviation reports, and corrective actions taken.
• Ensure all inspection activities are documented accurately and meet the requirements of internal and external quality audits.
  
  

Support Continuous Improvement Efforts

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly quality and reduce defect rates in nacelle and hub manufacturing.
• Provide feedback on inspection findings to support process optimization and supplier development efforts.
  
  

Compliance with Mechanical QA Standards

• Ensure that all inspections and quality checks comply with standards, drawing & specification.
• Stay updated on the latest mechanical QA standards and inspection technologies applicable to nacelle and hub components.
  
  

Training and Knowledge Sharing

• Assist in training new QA inspectors on mechanical inspection techniques and use of testing equipment.
• Share knowledge on defect detection and mechanical failure analysis to enhance the overall capability of the QA team.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  
  

Work Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical quality inspection and testing.
  
  

Industry Knowledge

• Proficiency in, dimensional inspections, and quality standards for nacelle and hub components.
