About VaayuCha

At VaayuCha, our mission spans “engineering every possibility.” We are a technology-focused organization tackling complex challenges across various domains. We explore advanced engineering solutions that enable intelligent, autonomous systems to operate in the most demanding environments.

If you want to push the boundaries of robotics, autonomy, and data-driven decision-making alongside a multidisciplinary group of professionals, you’re in the right place.

Role Description

Are you ready to build the future of ocean exploration? Join our team in developing our solar-powered autonomous Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) designed for long-duration ocean monitoring.

We are seeking a skilled and driven Electronics & Systems Integration Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience to take absolute ownership of the USV’s electronic architecture. In this role, you will transition the vehicle from design to ruggedized reality. You will be responsible for selecting, designing, and integrating marine-grade electronics, advanced sensors, and robust power systems capable of surviving harsh aquatic environments.

Location: HyderabadExperience: 3–5 YearsEmployment Type: Full-time
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Electronic Architecture & Ownership: Lead the end-to-end design, component selection, and integration of the USV’s electrical and electronic systems.
  • Marine-Grade Electronics: Implement and ruggedize electronics for marine environments, ensuring IP-rated sealing, corrosion resistance, and high reliability against thermal and mechanical stress.
  • Sensor & Systems Integration: Integrate critical hardware including GPS, IMU, compasses, wind sensors, payload cameras, and marine telemetry systems.
  • Power Management: Design and optimize power distribution networks for a solar-powered vehicle, managing solar charge controllers, battery management systems (BMS), and efficient power delivery to thrusters and compute modules.
  • Circuit Design & Testing: Develop schematics, handle component selection, oversee PCB layouts, and conduct rigorous hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Field Deployment: Actively participate in on-site lab integration and exciting field trials (including lake and sea testing) to troubleshoot, validate, and optimize electronic performance under real-world conditions.

What We Are Looking ForRequired Core Experience:
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in electronics design, hardware integration, or robotics engineering.
  • Marine Electronics Expertise: Proven experience working with marine-grade electronics, connectors, cabling, and waterproofing techniques.
  • Hardware Integration: Strong background in integrating complex sensor suites, embedded computers, and actuators.
  • Circuit Design & Power: Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle), SPICE simulation, and managing DC-DC power conversion/signal integrity.
  • Troubleshooting: Expert analytical and debugging skills to trace and isolate electrical faults in complex, multi-system environments.
Preferred Skills (Big Plus!):
  • Familiarity with open-source autopilot hardware (Pixhawk, Cube) and ecosystems (ArduPilot / PX4).
  • Experience with communication protocols: CAN, RS232/485, I2C, SPI, and MAVLink.
  • Basic comfort with Linux, Git, and software exposure in Python or C++ to collaborate seamlessly with our Autonomy team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related discipline.
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent technical documentation habits.
  • Ability to maintain sharp attention to detail during rigorous outdoor fieldwork.
