About the Job
OCS Services is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Ruby FPSO Operations. This role will serve as the technical authority for electrical systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance of electrical power generation and distribution systems throughout the asset lifecycle.
The position focuses on improving electrical system reliability, optimizing maintenance strategies, and ensuring safe operations across high-voltage and low-voltage electrical infrastructure onboard the FPSO.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to support day-to-day operations of the Ruby FPSO, ensuring that electrical equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with international offshore standards.
This role will work closely with offshore electrical teams, operations personnel, and technical specialists to improve system performance, enhance reliability, and maintain electrical integrity across the facility.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will:
- Act as the Technical Advisor for Electrical Systems supporting day-to-day Ruby FPSO operations.
- Provide inputs to the Operational Performance Standard (OPS) and maintenance management systems.
- Continuously monitor electrical system performance including MTBF / MTBR and recommend improvements where required.
- Ensure high efficiency and quality in maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical equipment and systems across the asset lifecycle.
- Implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), lifecycle asset management, and risk management strategies including criticality assessments, bad actor identification, and single point failure studies.
- Ensure compliance with class, flag state, OCS, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement condition monitoring and predictive diagnostics for reliability improvement.
- Prepare and review operational and maintenance procedures for electrical systems.
- Lead and contribute to incident investigations and root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Review and develop Management of Change (MoC) documentation including risk assessments and as-built documentation.
- Conduct periodic competence assessments for offshore Responsible Person Electrical (RPE).
- Maintain and update the Lessons Learned Register based on investigations, shutdown reports, audits, and MoC reviews.
- Conduct thermographic imaging surveys of electrical equipment and ensure timely close-out of recommendations.
- Coordinate inspections of Ex-rated electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with OCS and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure critical spare parts availability, including SAP material codification, BOM linking, and VED analysis.
- Maintain calibration validity for electrical testing and measuring tools.
- Ensure regular inspection and certification of electrical safety PPE.
- Develop shutdown plans and work packs with the FPSO electrical team.
- Coordinate with vendors and technical consultants for troubleshooting and field activities.
- Review and close technical queries raised by offshore teams and clients.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Certification in High Voltage System Handling and Maintenance.
- CompEx certification (Ex-01 / Ex-03 Installation, Ex-02 / Ex-04 Inspection) is an advantage.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in electrical systems including LV, MV, and HV switchgear, power generation, and power distribution systems.
- Minimum 5 years in Oil & Gas operations.
- Experience in Offshore Operations & Maintenance (FPSO preferred).
- Strong understanding of Electrical Power System Analysis and Protection Coordination using tools such as ETAP.
- Experience with maintenance management systems and engineering databases.
- Familiarity with offshore commissioning and operations.
- Exposure to multidisciplinary and multinational project environments.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of hazardous area electrical equipment and IEC 60079 / ATEX standards.
- Knowledge of FPSO marine and process systems and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with offshore electrical rules and regulations including Class, Flag State, International Codes, and OISD standards.
- Good understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP or equivalent).
- Knowledge of ICSS, metering systems, field instruments, and telecom systems is advantageous.
- Capability as an internal auditor is considered an advantage.

Work Environment
This role requires strong familiarity with FPSO electrical systems and operational procedures.
Frequent offshore assignments are expected (approximately once every three months).
