Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Kochi, Delhi NCR (Full-time, On-site)

Company: Intelo.ai

About Intelo

Intelo is a transformation partner building AI agents that drive efficiency, accuracy, and growth across businesses. We solve critical retail and supply chain workflows using purpose-built AI technology.

Our platform enables retailers to:

  • Forecast demand accurately
  • Reduce excess inventory
  • Improve sell-through
  • Make faster, smarter decisions

We operate at the intersection of AI, data engineering, and product thinking - building systems that translate complex data into real business outcomes.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (3-5 years of experience) to own the reliability, automation, and delivery backbone of our AI platform. Intelo ships fast - multiple environments (dev → UAT → prod), a growing set of services and data pipelines, and a weekly release cadence. This role is about making that cadence safe, repeatable, and boring: hardening CI/CD, keeping environments in parity, codifying infrastructure, and building the observability that catches problems before customers do.

You will work across our Azure- and Databricks-centric stack with backend, data, and product teams, and own infrastructure as a product - not a ticket queue.

What We Expect from Every Engineer at Intelo

This is part of our operating philosophy.

Here to Make a Difference

  • Challenges the status quo
  • Experiments boldly
  • Adapts when the ground shifts

Open by Default

  • Raises concerns early
  • Shares knowledge transparently

Owns It

  • Takes initiative
  • Follows process even when it's hard
  • Makes decisions with context - not escalation

Product Over Tickets

  • Thinks from the customer backwards
  • Fights unnecessary complexity
  • Automates repetitive work

Always Learning

  • Seeks deep understanding
  • Uses AI as leverage to improve thinking and output
  • Continuously upgrades technical and operational judgment

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Release Automation

  • Own and harden our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) across services, background workers, and database migrations
  • Make releases single-click and reversible - build/deploy gating, automated smoke tests, fast rollback
  • Enforce correct deploy ordering (schema migrations before services) and dependency-aware provisioning so a release never breaks on ordering
  • Reduce release friction so engineers can ship confidently on a weekly cadence

Infrastructure as Code

  • Design, review, and maintain Terraform for Azure (Container Apps, networking, storage, Key Vault) and related cloud resources
  • Eliminate configuration drift and one-off manual changes; every environment is codified and reproducible
  • Manage TLS/certificates, DNS, and secrets with automated rotation and proactive expiry monitoring

Environment Parity & Platform Ops

  • Close the gap between dev, UAT, and prod - consistent config, seed data, and org-level provisioning so "works in dev" means "works in prod"
  • Operate PostgreSQL and Databricks infrastructure: migrations, jobs, SQL warehouses, and workload scheduling
  • Partner with data engineering on pipeline reliability and scheduled workloads

Observability & Incident Response

  • Build monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards across services and data pipelines
  • Define SLOs and get ahead of failures - expiring certificates, failing jobs, capacity, and latency
  • Lead incident response and blameless postmortems; turn every incident into an automated guardrail

Security & Compliance

  • Support our SOC 2 posture: least-privilege access, secret hygiene, and audit logging
  • Bake security and compliance checks into the pipeline rather than bolting them on afterward

Cost & Performance

  • Monitor and optimize cloud and Databricks spend
  • Right-size compute and storage without compromising reliability

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in DevOps, site reliability, or platform engineering
  • Strong Linux, networking, and systems fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Production experience with a major cloud provider (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker; Container Apps / Kubernetes / ECS)
  • CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance (GitHub Actions preferred)
  • Scripting in Python and/or Bash; comfortable reading application code (Python/TypeScript)
  • Solid grasp of secrets management, certificates, and DNS
  • Strong problem-solving, ownership, and a bias for automation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Experience

We would prefer engineers with experience in:

  • Databricks / Spark infrastructure and cost optimization
  • PostgreSQL operations and schema-migration tooling (e.g., Kysely, Alembic)
  • Observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or similar)
  • Vercel or other modern frontend deployment platforms
  • SOC 2 or similar compliance programs
  • Supporting AI/ML or data-intensive production systems

What This Role Owns at Intelo

A DevOps Engineer at Intelo:

  • Treats infrastructure as a product whose users are the engineering team
  • Makes the safe path the easy path - automation over documentation
  • Measures reliability and acts on it before customers feel pain
  • Leaves the system more self-healing after every incident
  • Raises the operational bar for the whole team

Why Join Intelo

  • Own the delivery and reliability backbone of a fast-scaling AI platform
  • High ownership and visibility across the entire stack
  • Shape infrastructure, release process, and observability from the ground up
  • Fast-moving, product-first environment
  • Culture that rewards initiative and deep thinking
