About The Role We are looking for a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer who can own, design, and scale the DevOps architecture for our complex, distributed, microservices-based product. You will be responsible for both hands-on implementation and strategic infrastructure decisions, ensuring our platform?s reliability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate should have deep experience in cloud-native architecture, automation, CI/CD, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code. About Aries You will be working on our core products: Aries.com ? the first open-source brokerage for active traders. Finance.dev ? developer infrastructure for trading products. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Cloud Design, manage, and scale infrastructure across AWS using Terraform. Work extensively with AWS services such as Cognito, SNS, SQS, EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc. Design secure and highly available systems using VPC, subnets, load balancers, and networking best practices. Containerization & Orchestration Manage and optimize Docker-based microservices. Deploy, monitor, and scale workloads in Kubernetes (EKS preferred). Implement and maintain service mesh, ingress, and reverse proxies (Traefik, Nginx, etc.). Handle Pod Identity, RBAC, and multi-environment deployments. CI/CD & Automation Build and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Workflows, and ArgoCD. Automate environment provisioning, testing, and deployment for multiple services. Define and enforce GitOps principles and environment promotion strategies. Monitoring, Reliability & Security Set up observability with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK stack, or Datadog. Define SLOs, SLIs, and alerting strategies for proactive monitoring. Ensure infrastructure and data security, implement IAM best practices, secrets management, and compliance policies. Establish disaster recovery and backup strategies. Databases & Messaging Systems Manage and optimize Databases like PostgreSQL, Redis, DragonflyDB, and caching layers. Handle Kafka clusters and messaging systems to support high-throughput event-driven architectures. Team Leadership & Strategy Mentor junior Devops team members. Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and system teams. Handle infrastructure cost optimization, reliability improvements, and security hardening. Define DevOps best practices, documentation, and runbooks. Required Skills & ExperienceCore Technical Expertise 4?8+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with complex distributed systems.Strong experience with: AWS Cloud Infrastructure Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code Kubernetes (EKS preferred) Docker, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis/DragonflyDB Traefik, Pod Identity, Cloudflare Deep understanding of microservices networking, observability, and scaling. Proficient in at least one scripting or backend language (Bash, Python, or Go preferred). Soft Skills Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities. Proven experience owning DevOps architecture in fast-paced startups or large-scale systems. Excellent problem-solving and incident response skills. Passion for automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. Nice to haves Interest in trading, fintech, or financial infrastructure. Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems.
