Role Overview: This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Developer at LexLegis.ai in Mumbai. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our technical systems. Key Responsibilities: Architect and develop scalable backend systems ?using Python (3.x), Django, and Django Rest Framework (DRF). Own the design and performance of APIs , data models, and backend infrastructure across multiple services. Work closely with the AI engineering team to integrate LLM-powered features (document research, drafting, summarization, and contextual retrieval). Oversee data security, access control, and compliance in multi-tenant and enterprise environments. Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices for clean, maintainable code. Drive adoption of DevOps practices (containerization, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, automated testing). Collaborate with product management and frontend teams to define technical strategy and implementation plans. Lead performance optimization efforts ? query optimization, caching, load balancing, and scaling APIs. Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to keep the stack modern and efficient. Participate in architectural discussions for AI feature integration, vector databases, and retrieval systems. Core Skills & Experience: ( Please note: Apply only if you have requisite experience ) 8?10 years of hands-on experience with Python and Django , including large-scale, production-grade applications. Expertise in Django Rest Framework (DRF), ORM optimization, and microservice design. Strong understanding of PostgreSQL / MySQL with indexing and query tuning experience. Experience with Redis / Celery for asynchronous processing and caching. Proficiency in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployment (AWS / Azure / GCP). Strong foundation in software architecture, design patterns, and scalability principles . Deep understanding of security standards (OAuth2, JWT, encryption, data protection). Hands-on with CI/CD, Git, and automated testing frameworks. Preferred / Nice to Have: Experience working with or integrating LLMs / AI models / NLP pipelines. Familiarity with Elasticsearch / OpenSearch for document retrieval. Prior experience in legal tech, SaaS, or enterprise platforms. Knowledge of event-driven systems / message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka). Exposure to multi-tenant architectures and on-premise/VPC deployments. Open-source contributions or demonstrable GitHub/portfolio work.
