Position Overview The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and development of structural components, assemblies, and systems used in solar structures, mounting systems, fabrication items, and customized engineering products. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on software proficiency, and the ability to guide junior engineers while coordinating with production, quality, PPC, purchase, and project teams. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Design & Engineering Develop complete 2D & 3D models for steel structures, solar mounting structures, support frames, brackets, PEB components, etc. Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, GA drawings, BOQ, and material specifications. Perform engineering calculations including load analysis, stress analysis, and structural strength validation. Ensure designs comply with standards: IS codes, engineering best practices, and company specifications. Evaluate design feasibility, manufacturability, and material optimization. B. Project Coordination Understand customer requirements, site conditions, and project specifications to provide accurate design solutions. Collaborate with project management, production, PPC, and QC to resolve technical queries (TQ/RFI). Review fabrication feasibility and suggest redesign or modifications as required. Coordinate with suppliers for technical drawings, design clarification, or custom components. C. Quality & Documentation Conduct design reviews, tolerance checks, and validation of drawings prior to release. Maintain a complete design data library including revisions, version control, and documentation as per ISO requirements. Ensure accuracy and consistency across all drawings issued to production. D. Mentorship & Improvement Guide and train junior design engineers and draftsmen. Review and approve their drawings, ensuring quality and accuracy. Drive design improvement initiatives for cost saving, material reduction, and process efficiency. 3. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Proficient in: BricsCAD / AutoCAD NX / SolidWorks / Inventor (as applicable) Strong understanding of steel design, solar structures, fabrication processes, and GD&T. Knowledge of weld symbols, tolerances, bending allowances, and manufacturing constraints. Ability to perform engineering calculations and structural validation. Education Qualifications Requirement: B.Tech or BE in Mechanical Work Experience required: 5+ Years of work experience in Mechanical design field.
