Senior Database Migration Engineer – MySQL to Amazon Aurora (AWS)

Location: Anywhere in India.

We are seeking a Senior Database Migration Engineer to lead the migration of petabyte-scale MySQL databases from on-premises environments to Amazon Aurora MySQL. This role focuses on designing and executing large-scale, near-zero downtime migrations while ensuring data integrity, high availability, and optimal performance.

• Lead end-to-end migration of large-scale MySQL databases to Amazon Aurora MySQL.
• Design migration strategies using replication, CDC, and incremental synchronization.
• Execute cutover, rollback, validation, and reconciliation activities.
• Optimize MySQL performance, indexing, query tuning, and replication.
• Configure and manage Aurora, backups, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Automate migration and validation using Python and Shell scripting.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure successful migration.

• 8+ years of MySQL DBA or Database Migration experience.
• Proven experience migrating large-scale (TB/PB) MySQL databases to AWS.
• Strong expertise in:
• MySQL Administration, Performance Tuning, Replication, Backup & Recovery
• Amazon Aurora MySQL, RDS, AWS DMS, SCT
• Python, SQL, Shell Scripting
• AWS services: IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3
• Experience with zero/near-zero downtime migrations, data validation, and cutover planning.

• Experience with petabyte-scale migrations.
• Terraform, GitLab/Jenkins CI/CD, Kubernetes.
• Monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
