We seek an experienced data engineer to join our Equities team at the D. E. Shaw India office in Hyderabad/Gurugram. The Equities India group collaborates with our New York team to develop software, quantitative analysis tools, and financial datasets for the Systematic Equities strategy, which trades global equities. The quality and performance of these tools is crucial to the strategy?s success. WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY: You will work with quants and traders to develop and manage structured datasets for quantitative research. Optimize data pipelines, design scalable libraries for efficient storage, understand business domain nuances, analyze patterns like missing data, seasonality, and outliers. Contribute to data governance and observability and collaborate with cross-team members to resolve dependencies. You will engage in various aspects of financial markets, datasets, and the technology powering a leading financial firm. WHO WE?RE LOOKING FOR: Basic qualifications: A Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science or a related field 2-4 years of experience, (preferably with Python, though not limited to it), and experience in data ingestion and enrichment pipelines Ability to work independently with good attention to detail Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across various geographical locations Preferred qualifications: Experience in large datasets, databases, big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Delta Lake, Iceberg, and Spark, and good data analytics skills Interested candidates can apply through our website: https://www.deshawindia.com/recruit/jobs/Adv/Link/SnrMemDEJun25 We encourage candidates with relevant experience looking to restart their careers after a break to apply for this position.
