Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with around 8+ years of experience, specializing in Azure cloud infrastructure and Linux-based environments, to join our Managed Services team. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for managing customer environments with a strong emphasis on automation, security, cost optimization, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Azure, a Linux-first mindset, and a working understanding of DevOps, Terraform, and monitoring tools. Experience working with customer-facing teams or in managed service models is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Operations & Support

  • Manage and support customer cloud environments, primarily on Azure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and implement changes.
  • Participate in regular governance calls and support technical discussions with customers.
  • Document standard procedures, runbooks, and perform root cause analysis for major incidents.

Cloud Infrastructure Management

  • Build and maintain Azure IaaS resources (VMs, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, etc.).
  • Manage Linux-based workloads, patching, and performance optimization.
  • Implement cost optimization strategies using Azure Cost Management and tagging policies.
  • Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices (IAM, RBAC, Key Vault, etc.).

Automation & DevOps

  • Use Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure.
  • Integrate infrastructure deployments into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Manage separate environments (dev/test/prod) with proper state isolation and variable parameterization.

Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Configure monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and third-party tools like Dynatrace.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents efficiently, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews and drive corrective actions.\

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • 5–8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong hands-on skills in:
  • Terraform (or equivalent IaC tool) for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
  • DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar) for pipeline automation.
  • Monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Exposure to AI workloads, data pipelines, or modern compute frameworks is a plus, or a clear passion to learn these quickly.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, IAM, and cost optimization in cloud environments.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to container platforms (Kubernetes, EKS, AKS).
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud cost management tools, AI ML Ops services, and security frameworks (CIS, NIST).
  • Certifications like AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Terraform Associate.
