Job Title: Senior Business Analyst ? Streaming Market Data Platform Location: Chennai Experience Level: 6 to 15 years Department: Market Data / Technology Employment Type: Full-time Role Overview We are building a next-generation low-latency, real-time (streaming) market data platform to support advanced trading and analytics use cases. As a Senior Business Analyst , you will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and operations teams to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality market data services. This role requires a deep understanding of real-time data concepts, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience in financial technology or market data environments. Key Responsibilities Gather, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements for real-time data solutions by engaging with internal and external stakeholders. Analyse market data protocols (e.g., FIX, ITCH, or proprietary formats) and define mappings to standardized schemas. Develop user stories , acceptance criteria , data dictionaries , and related documentation to guide development teams. Work closely with QA and development teams to ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and meet quality standards . Participate in sprint planning , backlog refinement, and review sessions as part of the agile delivery process. Support operational readiness by contributing to documentation, data validation, and process improvement initiatives. Act as a liaison between business, technology, and operations teams to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within financial services or market data platforms . Strong understanding of real-time data concepts , including streaming architectures , data normalization , and data quality management . Experience with market data protocols (e.g., FIX, ITCH, FAST, or similar). Familiarity with APIs , data integration methods, and event-driven architectures . Hands-on proficiency in SQL , scripting languages (e.g., Python), version control tools (e.g., Git), and agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills. Fluent in English with strong presentation and documentation abilities. Preferred Skills Experience working in agile delivery frameworks and managing backlogs using tools like Jira. Exposure to data modeling , data lineage , and performance metrics tracking . Knowledge of cloud-based streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink) or market data distribution systems.
