ABOUT THE COMPANY : One of our Customer based in CA, USA ( ROI-AI), founded by Ex- Google DeepMind is building an AI-powered platform for automating chargeback dispute management in wholesale and retail distribution. The platform will help analysts reduce manual work by 90% through intelligent document parsing, evidence assembly, and workflow automation. ROI-AI is a seed-stage startup with a solid technical foundation and early customer traction, looking to expand the engineering team to complete our MVP and scale. About the Role We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our small, fast-moving team. You'll work on core systems that process chargebacks, manage cases, and integrate with financial services infrastructure. This is a high-impact role where your work directly affects product delivery and customer success. Responsibilities Design and implement backend services in Python (Fast API) ? Build and maintain APIs that power our web applications Work with PostgreSQL databases and optimize query performance Develop integrations with third-party services (payment processors, email, S3) Implement financial calculations with precision and auditability Write tests and maintain high code quality standards Collaborate with frontend engineers on API contracts and system design Contribute to infrastructure tooling and deployment pipelines Tech Stack Layer Technologies: - ??????? Backend -- Python 3.11+, Fast API ??????? Database-- PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server (customer ERP integration) ??????? Infrastructure-- Docker, AWS (LightSail, S3, SES, Secrets Manager) ??????? CI/CD-- GitHub Actions, Terraform ??????? Testing-- Pytest, integration tests ??????? AI/ML-- Anthropic Claude, OpenAI (orchestration layer) Requirements ??????? 4+ years of backend development experience in Python ??????? Strong Python proficiency (Fast API, async/await, Pydantic preferred) ??????? Experience with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL) ??????? Understanding of RESTful API design ??????? Familiarity with Docker and containerized development ??????? Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment ??????? Strong written and verbal communication skills ??????? Candidates preferred from tier 1 & tier 2 colleges Nice to Have ??????? Node.js/TypeScript experience ??????? Experience in fintech, payments, or dispute management -?????Financial calculations and billing system experience -?????AWS experience beyond basics (S3, SES, Secrets Manager) -?????Multi-tenant SaaS architecture experience ??????? Experience with AI/ML integrations or LLM APIs -?????Previous startup or founding engineer experience What You'll Work On (First 90 Days) - Month 1: Onboard, understand the codebase, ship 1-2 small features - Month 2: Own a core workflow (billing, remittance tracking, or integrations) - Month 3: Lead implementation of a major feature, contribute to architecture decisions Compensation: The compensation offered for this role will be at the prevailing best market rate. You will be working from Noida and your Manager will be based in California, USA. You must have a valid passport to apply for this role. (Having USA VISA holders will be preferred)
