Omnipresence Ventures India Private Limited builds a B2B SaaS operations platform for FMCG manufacturers, brands, and distributors. Our product suite powers field sales, workflow automation, and analytics for teams across India, with a live product and paying customers already at meaningful scale.

About the Role

We are hiring a founding backend engineer to own our core platform end to end. You will report directly to the founder, work on architecture and infrastructure decisions from day one, and also contribute to a new area of the business: in-house voice and conversational AI systems that rethink how our customers interact with the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Own core backend architecture, including APIs, database design, and system scalability
• Build and maintain deployment pipelines and automation for reliable, self-sustaining releases
• Design and maintain production infrastructure: monitoring, alerting, and backup systems
• Contribute to research and development of in-house voice interaction and chatbot systems
• Participate in product and technical direction discussions with the founder
• Manage integrations with third-party messaging, payment, and verification services

Mentor and support the engineering team

Required Skills and Experience

• 2 to 4 years of experience building and operating production backend systems
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of system design and the ability to reason about scale
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, S3, IAM, and serverless frameworks
• Experience building deployment pipelines and automation
• Strong SQL and database schema design skills; familiarity with modern ORMs
• Comfort with ambiguity and undocumented systems; ability to bring structure independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business messaging APIs (e.g., WhatsApp Business API)
• Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS architecture
• Background in voice or conversational AI systems
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup
