Senior Backend Engineer (MERN + AI)

Role Overview We are looking for a Backend Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) who has worked in early-stage startup environments. You should be comfortable shipping quick MVPs, iterating fast, and balancing technical rigor with pragmatic delivery. Experience with AI product integration or AI-driven features is a big plus. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js + Express with MongoDB. Collaborate with frontend and product teams to build and launch MVPs quickly. Architect scalable APIs and ensure smooth integration across the stack. Integrate AI/ML APIs, LLMs, and AI-driven workflows into backend systems. Write clean, modular, and well-documented code while moving fast in a startup environment. Manage deployments, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and CI/CD pipelines. Optimize performance, security, and data storage solutions. Requirements 3+ years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js/Express. Strong understanding of MongoDB and database schema design. Comfortable working with React.js frontends and full MERN integration. Proven experience in building MVPs quickly in a lean startup environment. Hands-on experience with AI products (e.g., OpenAI, HuggingFace, LangChain, RAG pipelines, or custom ML models). Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or WebSockets. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes a plus). Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and startup mindset. Nice to Have Experience with Supabase Exposure to microservices and distributed systems.
