Role Overview
We are hiring senior backend engineers who can independently design, build, and own enterprise-grade backend systems.
The role is Java-first, with Spring AI as the primary GenAI integration framework.

Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong Java backend background with deep expertise in :
- Object-oriented programming
- Multithreading & concurrency
- Hands-on experience with Spring Framework
- Hands-on experience with Spring AI
- Design systems independently
- Make architectural decisions
- Experience working as a Senior IC / Tech Lead-level engineer
- Comfortable working with minimal direction and high ambiguity
- 2- 3 years exposure to GenAI / AI systems
- Experience integrating LLMs into backend services
- Prompt engineering
- RAG and vectorization concepts
- Python experience for AI workflows is acceptable, but Java is primary
- Ability to learn new AI concepts quickly is valued over theoretical depth
- Building backend systems from scratch
- Designing and developing :
- Backend APIs
- Event-driven systems
- Enterprise-grade services
- Integrating GenAI capabilities using Spring AI
- Owning services from design - development - deployment
- Python backend experience (Django, FastAPI)
- Experience in fintech, payments, or enterprise SaaS
- CI/CD and cloud deployment exposure
- Prior mentoring or informal technical leadership
- Java-first engineer for most of their career
- Recently expanded into GenAI
- Strong backend fundamentals
- Thinks like a system owner
- Can operate independently without hand-holding (ref:hirist.tech)
