We are seeking a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer (6–8 years’ experience) for a full-time contract role

based in Bengaluru (occasional travel), responsible for building and operating the core

AI/ML-powered backend systems that power BharatIQ’s consumer experiences at scale.

This is not a learning-on-the-job ML role—candidates must have proven experience delivering MLadjacent

production systems such as RAG/retrieval pipelines, embeddings, ranking, feature services, and

evaluation frameworks. Learning

You will design and run orchestration, session/state management, and service integrations; implement

end-to-end retrieval and memory primitives (chunking, embeddings, indexing, vector search, re-ranking,

caching, and freshness semantics); productionize ML workflows with strong online/offline parity and

model contracts; and drive measurable improvements across latency, throughput, reliability, and cost

with clear SLO ownership.

The role also emphasizes observability-by-default (tracing, logs, metrics, guardrails, fallbacks) and close

collaboration with applied ML teams on routing, prompts/tools, evaluation datasets, and safe releases.
