Job Description

Wizzer is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives on building scalable systems and shaping the future of a high-growth WealthTech platform. In this role, you will contribute to mission-critical backend services that power our investment platform, trading systems, and client-facing applications. You’ll be a key contributor from inception to deployment, with hands-on ownership of architecture, implementation, release cycles, and operational monitoring. You’ll collaborate closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams, making key decisions in the backend architecture and mentoring junior engineers. This is a high-impact role for someone looking to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative, and technically challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

System Ownership: Lead the design and implementation of backend services and APIs that are robust, scalable, and secure.
Technical Execution: Identify system bottlenecks and performance issues and implement optimizations as we scale.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Mentorship: Guide junior developers and promote best practices in backend development and system design.
Operational Excellence: Improve reliability, observability, and documentation across services; actively contribute to incident handling and resolution.
Tooling & Standards: Promote modern tooling and advocate for improved development experience and productivity through automation and continuous integration.
Documentation: Participate in and contribute to writing RFCs, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
