Senior Architect

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a skilled and driven Senior Architect to independently lead projects from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of hands-on experience, is comfortable working across multiple typologies beyond residential (commercial, hospitality, retail, institutional, workspace, etc.), and has a strong track record of delivering time-bound projects without compromising design quality. This role requires up-to-date knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and industry technologies, along with the ability to lead a team and coordinate closely with clients, consultants, and site teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

End-to-End Project Delivery

• Independently handle projects from concept design through design development, working drawings, and site execution to final handover.
• Lead design conceptualization, space planning, and detailing in line with client brief, budget, and timelines.
• Prepare and present design proposals, presentations, and mood boards to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate working drawings, GFC drawings, and detailing with the design and technical team.
• Ensure design intent is carried through accurately during execution, resolving site issues as they arise.

Time-Bound Project Management

• Develop realistic project schedules and milestones, and drive the team to meet delivery deadlines.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and risks to the project timeline and implement corrective action.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other consultants to ensure timely integration of services.
• Track project progress against schedule and provide regular status updates to management and clients.

Multi-Typology Design Expertise

• Design and deliver projects across varied typologies — residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, workspace, and institutional.
• Adapt design approach, codes, and detailing to suit the specific requirements of each project typology.
• Stay updated on typology-specific planning norms, statutory approvals, and compliance requirements.

Technical & Industry Knowledge

• Maintain strong knowledge of current construction techniques, materials, and building technologies.
• Guide the team on innovative and sustainable design solutions, systems, and detailing.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, new products, and best practices, and bring relevant ideas into projects.
• Review and validate technical drawings for feasibility, buildability, and code compliance.

Team & Client Coordination

• Lead, mentor, and review the work of junior architects and design staff.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects, managing expectations and communication.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure smooth execution on site.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong design sensibility with the ability to independently drive a project from concept to completion.
• Proven experience delivering projects on schedule across more than one typology (not residential only).
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and emerging building technologies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp/3D software, and MS Office; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
• Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate a multidisciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• B.Arch/M.Arch from a recognized institution; Council of Architecture registration preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in an architectural or design firm.
• Demonstrated portfolio of projects delivered from concept to completion across multiple typologies.
