Engagement Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to build and integrate AI-powered features directly into our enterprise .NET Core SaaS platform. This engineer sits at the intersection of backend systems engineering and applied AI, delivering production-ready capabilities that connect LLM-based services, APIs, and Angular-based frontends. You will work closely with the AI Architect and the core engineering team to ship AI features that serve enterprise compliance customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend AI feature services using .NET Core and C#, integrating with Azure OpenAI and other LLM APIs.
• Develop REST and GraphQL APIs that expose AI capabilities to Angular-based frontend applications.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using Azure AI Search or equivalent vector store solutions.
• Integrate AI agent tool calls and function-calling patterns into existing backend microservices.
• Build data pipelines that feed AI features with clean, structured enterprise data from SQL and cloud data sources.
• Write evaluation harnesses and automated tests to validate AI feature output quality and regression behavior.
• Collaborate with the AI Architect on framework decisions and with the Reliability Engineer on performance and safety constraints.
• Apply DevOps and CI/CD practices for AI feature deployment and change management on Azure.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on professional software engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency in .NET Core and C# with strong object-oriented design skills.
• Proven experience integrating LLM APIs (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or Anthropic) into production applications.
• Strong experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on experience with RAG architecture and vector search integration.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems on Azure.
• Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational database design.
• Experience building backend systems that integrate with Angular frontends.
• Proficiency with Azure services including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Azure App Services.
• Experience with Python as a secondary language for AI tooling and scripting preferred.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently in a consulting engagement model across distributed teams.
