Senior Accountant
Actively Reviewing the ApplicationsElektron Energy
Job Description
About the Company
Elektron is a large, privately held Bitcoin mining company. We manage a growing portfolio of mining sites across the United States and select international markets. We're built by Bitcoiners and operate by the principles that come with that: transparency, proof of work, and a high standard of execution. We're scaling quickly and this is an opportunity to be part of that growth from an early stage.
About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Accountant to own fixed asset accounting across all Elektron entities. Our asset base is large, growing, and spread across multiple sites. This role exists because we need someone who can build and run this function with minimal oversight — not just execute tasks someone else designed.
Responsibilities
- Fixed Asset Ownership and Subledger Management: You'll manage the full asset lifecycle across all entities — acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairment, disposals, and retirements — applying ASC 360 and Elektron's Fixed Asset Policy. This includes tracking construction-in-progress across active projects, assessing placed-in-service dates, and ensuring every transaction is supported by clear documentation.
- Close and Financial Reporting Support: You'll support monthly and quarterly close through journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset schedules including routine depreciation and intercompany entries. You'll contribute to financial statement disclosures and provide accurate asset and CIP data for capital spend tracking and budget-to-actual analysis.
- Controls, Audit and Compliance: You'll execute controls consistently across the fixed asset lifecycle and maintain audit-ready workpapers for external auditors and tax advisors. You'll support periodic asset verification procedures and contribute to building a control environment that can withstand external audit scrutiny.
- Cross-Functional Partnership and Process Improvement: You'll work closely with Operations and Engineering to ensure asset additions, CIP activity, and site-level movements are captured accurately and on time. You'll help operational partners understand what accounting needs from them and contribute to NetSuite and NetAsset optimization where fixed asset workflows can be improved.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Three or more years of fixed asset accounting or general accounting experience.
Required Skills
- Solid command of ASC 360 and fixed asset accounting across the full asset lifecycle.
- Experience managing a fixed asset subledger in a multi-entity environment.
- NetSuite experience required; NetAsset experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with CIP tracking and placed-in-service assessments.
- SOX control environment experience is a plus.
- Detail oriented, organized, and process minded.
- A clear communicator who works well cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering partners.
- A self-starter who thrives in a high-trust, fully remote environment.
Compensation Package
Competitive base salary and bonus. Unlimited PTO. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. A drop-in office in Miami for those who want it. A lean, high-performance team where your work has direct impact. The opportunity to be part of something genuinely different in the Bitcoin space.
Equal Opportunity Statement
We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
