Job Description: SDE II ? Full Stack Developer (Shopify) Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Technology Location: Bengaluru (Remote) Experience: 2.5+ Years About the Role As an SDE II ? Full Stack Developer (Shopify) , you will be a core contributor to building high-performance, scalable, and user-centric e-commerce solutions. You will work across the entire stack?frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and custom Shopify app development?while collaborating with designers, PMs, and stakeholders. This position requires strong technical expertise, a deep understanding of Shopify?s ecosystem, and the ability to take ownership of end-to-end product delivery. Your Responsibilities Frontend Development Build fast, scalable, and responsive UIs using React, Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript Convert UI/UX designs into reusable, high-quality components Optimize page speed, Core Web Vitals , and frontend performance Develop custom Shopify themes and frontend components Ensure cross-browser, cross-device, and cross-platform compatibility Maintain high code quality through reviews, linting, and automated testing Backend Development Build backend features using Shopify REST & GraphQL APIs Develop custom Shopify apps using Node.js, Express, Next.js Work with SSR, SSG, API integrations, and databases Implement authentication, authorization, webhooks, and app architecture Ensure backend logic is secure, optimized, and scalable Troubleshoot and resolve API, server-side, or integration issues Core Ownership Areas End-to-end development of Shopify-based web applications Collaborate with design, product, and cross-functional teams to deliver features Mentor junior developers and participate in architectural discussions Drive improvements in code quality, architecture, DevOps, and workflows Work with Git, CI/CD, release pipelines , and structured deployment cycles What We?re Looking For Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology , or related field Experience Required 2.5+ years of Full Stack Development experience and hands-on experience with Shopify (themes + custom apps) Experience working in lean or fast-moving teams Proven ability to deliver end-to-end solutions independently Strong understanding of Liquid, Shopify ecosystem, and e-commerce workflows Technical Skills & Subject Expertise Frontend Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, ES6+ Strong experience with React, Redux, Hooks, component lifecycle Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, Tailwind CSS Understanding of responsive/mobile-first development Familiarity with Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn , and build optimization Backend Experience with Node.js, Express, Next.js Hands-on experience building Shopify custom/private apps Knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL Strong understanding of SSR, SSG, authentication, caching, performance tuning Shopify Expertise Proficiency with Liquid , metafields, and Shopify theme structure Experience with REST & GraphQL APIs Understanding of cart, checkout flows, storefront APIs Experience with Shopify Plus, headless architecture, Hydrogen (preferred) Additional Skills Strong debugging & analytical problem-solving abilities Experience with Git , branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Sketch Knowledge of PWA concepts, code splitting, lazy loading , and performance optimization What Makes You Stand Out Clear, confident communication skills Detail-oriented with clean, maintainable coding practices Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative Collaborative mindset with willingness to mentor and elevate the team Ability to adapt quickly , learn new technologies, and think solution-first Excellent organization and time-management skills
