About the Role: 

Snapmint is looking for a Backend Engineer (SDE I) who enjoys solving real-world problems at scale and building reliable backend systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers and product managers to develop backend services powering Snapmint’s fintech platform. 

This role offers significant learning opportunities, strong mentorship, and exposure to building scalable distributed systems in a fast-growing product company. 

Key Responsibilities:   

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs used by Snapmint products 

• Write clean, maintainable, and production-quality code 

• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and senior backend engineers to deliver features 

• Participate in code reviews and improve engineering quality and standards 

• Contribute to debugging, performance improvements, and reliability of services 

• Learn and implement scalable cloud-native and distributed system practices 

• Continuously improve your technical skills and engineering craft 

What We’re Looking For: 

• BE/BTech in Computer Science or related field 

• 1–3 years of backend development experience 

• Strong experience with Node.js and JavaScript 

• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB 

• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms 

• Strong problem-solving skills 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Familiarity with REST APIs and microservices 

• Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure) 

• Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architectures 

• Understanding of testing practices and automation 

• Contributions to open-source or personal GitHub projects are a plus
