Job Description

We?re looking for a Backend Developer who loves building scalable, secure systems ? and is curious about how AI can supercharge product experiences. You?ll work closely with product, design, and AI teams to architect backend systems that power real-world applications using LLMs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Strong working knowledge of Node.js, Express, NestJS, or equivalent backend frameworks Deep understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs and event-driven architecture 3+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems from scratch Hands-on experience with authentication, validation, and authorization flows (JWT, OAuth2, RBAC, etc.) Strong database knowledge ? PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) Experience with TypeScript, Prisma/Sequelize, Swagger/Postman for API documentation Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, and CI/CD pipelines Bonus: experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.) and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, FAISS) Understanding of RAG architecture, embedding pipelines, and prompt orchestration You care about performance, clean architecture, and production reliability You love collaborating across engineering, design, and product to bring ideas from 0 ? 1 Requirements You?re amazing at Node.js, system architecture, and API design You?ve built or contributed to production-grade systems handling auth, caching, rate limiting, and monitoring You?re curious about how AI products work under the hood ? from LLM prompts to retrieval pipelines You?ve dabbled with or deployed AI-powered APIs, know what vector stores do, and can wire them into real applications You?re comfortable designing modular service architectures that scale with product and data growth You believe in test-driven development, clean documentation, and reproducible environments You can discuss trade-offs with PMs and designers ? and back your opinions with data and pragmatism You bring a maker?s mindset ? bias for action, clarity in communication, and passion for building something meaningful
