Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer (SDE-2) to join our high-velocity AI engineering team in a leadership capacity. You'll architect and build cutting-edge AI-powered applications, lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices across the frontend stack. This role requires someone who can seamlessly integrate LLMs and agentic workflows into scalable, production-grade products while maintaining high standards for code quality and system design. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Architect, design, and lead the development of complex, scalable TypeScript/JavaScript-based frontend applications Make critical technical decisions regarding framework selection, architecture patterns, and system design Define and enforce frontend development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance to the team AI-Powered Development Design and implement sophisticated AI-powered UI features including real-time response streaming, intelligent search interfaces, conversational chat experiences, and complex agentic workflows Build robust integrations with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and implement advanced prompt engineering patterns Drive adoption of AI coding assistants (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) across the team to maximize productivity Optimize AI-powered features for performance, reliability, and user experience System Building & Ownership Build and maintain scalable design systems and comprehensive component libraries Develop reusable frameworks and utilities for authentication, server-side rendering, state management, caching, and API integrations Own end-to-end delivery of major features from conception to deployment Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability through monitoring and optimization Collaboration & Mentorship Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI Engineers, Backend Developers, UX/UI Designers, and Product Managers Contribute to hiring, interviewing, and building a strong engineering culture Share knowledge through documentation, tech talks, and fostering best practices Innovation & Continuous Improvement Stay at the forefront of frontend technologies, AI tools, and industry trends Identify opportunities for technical improvements and drive their implementation Experiment with emerging technologies and advocate for their adoption when beneficial Required Technical Skills Core Frontend Expertise 5+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks 3+ years of production experience with React/Next.js in complex, large-scale applications Deep expertise in Tailwind CSS and CSS-in-JS solutions for building responsive, accessible, modern UIs Advanced knowledge of state management solutions (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Jotai, or similar) and when to apply them Proven experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries at scale API & Performance Strong experience with REST APIs , GraphQL , and optimizing data flows for performance Expertise in implementing advanced caching strategies, lazy loading, code splitting, and performance optimization Experience with server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and incremental static regeneration (ISR) AI Integration Experience Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs and building AI-powered user interfaces Understanding of streaming responses, token management, and real-time AI interactions Familiarity with prompt engineering and optimizing AI-powered features Engineering Excellence Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns (MVC, Observer, Factory, etc.), and SOLID principles Expertise in version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows Proficiency with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright) and test-driven development Experience with monitoring, debugging, and performance profiling tools Design to Code Expert-level ability to implement pixel-perfect designs from Figma/design tools Experience collaborating with designers and providing technical feedback on design feasibility Required Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from reputed institutions (IIT/NIT/BITS/IIIT or equivalent ranked universities) 5+ years of professional software development experience with at least 3 years focused on frontend Strong portfolio of production web applications, ideally including AI-powered features Open-source contributions or technical blog posts are a plus Soft Skills & Mindset Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts Proven ability to mentor and uplift team members Track record of delivering high-quality work in high-paced, dynamic environments Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Startup experience strongly preferred -
