We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Scribe to support our orthopedic providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real time. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential Functions – Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Accompany providers during patient visits and document medical histories, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Accurately transcribe providerpatient interactions in real time
  • Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and compliant with clinic standards
  • Assist with chart preparation by reviewing prior notes, imaging, and test results
  • Enter orders for labs, imaging, and referrals as directed by the provider
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Adapt quickly to different providers’ workflows and documentation preferences

Qualification & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years as a medical assistant or related experience
  • Experience with scheduling appointments
  • Proficient in computers using MS Office applications and with EHR (preferably Epic)
  • Strong knowledge of clinical/medical practice operations, procedures, terminology, and administration
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and build effective relationships with internal and external clients to achieve
  • Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills; including excellent interpersonal skills and telephone communication.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on allocated assignments.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Handles confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work is performed in a clinic and office setting. Ability to accurately type, write, and use general office equipment is necessary. Extensive telephone communication is required.
