Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a SCIENTIST III – IND to join our Resource Group Team at our Hyderabad LAB. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Life Sciences function. This position will report to the Team Leader.

The SCIENTIST III – IND Is Responsible For

  • Comply with company procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures, and safety programs
  • Provides technical and application development support to sales colleagues and pharmaceutical industry customers.
  • Work with senior technical team in providing technical expertise regarding the development of pharmaceutical products.
  • Designing, initiating and executing studies, and interpreting the study results.
  • Assimilating and analyzing data into reports, posters, and journal articles.
  • Preparing technical presentations for internal and external customers at customer sites, scientific conferences and trade shows.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work in high pressure environment.
  • Maintaining lab notebooks and logbooks in accordance with company guidelines.

Desired Candidate Skills/Experience

  • Proficient in technical understanding of customer end-use application.
  • A minimum of 12 yrs – 15 yrs with M. Pharma and 10 yrs – 12 yrs with PHD.
  • Fundamental understanding on product development of oral solid dosage forms, film coating and oral liquid dosage form.
  • Hands-on experience on development of extended-release tablets formulations using matrix and reservoir-based technologies using application of hypromellose and ethyl cellulose polymers from concept to commercialization.
  • Hands-on experience on development immediate release tablets formulations using different chemistry-based binders and disintegrants.
  • Hands-on experience on development of oral liquid dosage forms using hydroxyethylcellulose and sodium carboxymethylcellulose based systems.
  • Hands-on experience with solid-oral pharmaceutical unit operations such as wet and dry granulation, tableting, tablet coating and fluid-bed processing/coating.
  • Working knowledge on formulation characterization and related analytical techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), Microsoft Office Suite, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to organize and maintain lab area in a safe professional manner.
  • Understanding safety, housekeeping and good lab practices and good documentation practices.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management.
  • Teamwork/interpersonal skills.
