Scientist – Camouflage Paints & Coatings
Hyper Stealth Technologies Private Limited.
Job Description
Location: Delhi NCR
Department: R&D / Advanced Materials
Experience: 2–5 Years
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist – Camouflage Paints & Coatings to develop advanced thermal signature reduction solutions for defense applications. The role focuses on designing and optimizing Visual, IR, Thermal camouflage coatings and thermal paints with controlled emissivity and reflectivity properties to minimize detection across infrared spectrums.
Keywords: Emissivity, Camouflage, Stealth, Thermal windows, EM spectrum. radiation
Key Responsibilities
· Spectral Management: Formulate low-gloss, ultra-matte paints that control spectral reflectance from UV to the thermal infrared spectrum.
· Pigment Manipulation: Engineer specialized pigment blends—such as chromium oxide green or metallic flakes—to mimic the chlorophyll signature of natural foliage.
· Binder Selection: Optimize polyurethane, epoxy, or waterborne resin frameworks to ensure proper pigment suspension and high durability.
· Multispectral Stealth: Develop specialized smart coatings that minimize radar cross-sections or isolate thermal energy to prevent infrared tracking.
· Environmental Resilience: Ensure the developed coatings maintain mechanical integrity under extreme weather, chemical washing, aviation friction, and high UV exposure.
· Functional Integration: Incorporate secondary capabilities into the camouflage Matrix, such as anti-corrosion properties, hydrophobic behavior, or flame retardancy.
- Develop and formulate thermal paints and IR camouflage coatings for signature reduction in defense applications.
- Design materials with tailored thermal emissivity, reflectivity, and conductivity characteristics.
- Conduct thermal analysis using infrared thermography and thermal imaging systems.
- Perform lab-scale formulation, coating application, and performance testing.
- Evaluate coating performance under varied environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, solar exposure).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including materials science, simulation, testing, and field validation teams.
- Optimize coating performance for military camouflage and stealth applications.
- Prepare technical reports, experimental documentation, and data analysis.
- Support scale-up activities from lab to pilot and production levels.
- Must have experience in paint and coating formulation of Epoxy, PU, TPA, Alkyd, Silicone
