Job Description

Hummingbird Scientific is hiring a Scientific Content & Website Developer to build high-quality, user-centered web experiences and create impactful scientific content. This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and improving our websites while producing clear, engaging technical content that supports our products and customers. You?ll work closely with our internal teams to refine our digital presence, while supporting broader content and usability goals. As a Scientific Content & Website Developer, you?ll play a key role in shaping both the visual design and technical functionality of Hummingbird Scientific?s customer-facing and internal websites. You will also develop clear, accurate scientific content that supports our advanced microscopy and instrumentation products. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and building new webpages, updating and maintaining existing pages, producing scientific text, visuals, and media, as well as optimizing content for performance and accessibility. Success in this role requires a strong combination of website development skills, scientific communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to turn ideas into polished digital experiences. Key Qualifications: Experience in creating/editing scientific and/or technical content Experience building and maintaining WordPress websites in a professional setting Experience with graphics design, animation, and video editing Experience with front end web development ? using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Strong grasp of Responsive and Mobile-First Design principles Excellent written communication and ability to manage tasks independently Education and Experience: Masters or PhD in Science or Engineering 2+ years of website and web-content development experience in a professional setting Optional Qualifications: Experience with website performance monitoring/reporting and SEO optimization Experience with backend scripting languages (eg.
