Role Description:

The School Transport Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Hosur, responsible for overseeing daily school transportation operations. The role involves planning and scheduling bus routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students, and coordinating with drivers, attendants, and school administration. The manager monitors fleet performance and maintenance, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and maintains accurate records of vehicle usage and incidents. This position also handles parent and student queries related to transport, resolves service issues, and implements improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency. The School Transport Manager will regularly review operational processes, manage transport budgets, and support emergency and contingency planning.

Qualifications:

• Strong Operations Management skills to oversee daily transport activities, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Transportation Management and Fleet Management skills to handle routing, vehicle maintenance, safety compliance, and capacity planning.
• Customer Service and Communication skills to manage parent and student inquiries, coordinate with school staff, and maintain clear documentation.
• Experience in managing school or institutional transport services, with a solid understanding of local transport regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to lead and supervise drivers and support staff, with proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Proficiency in using basic computer applications and transport management tools for scheduling, reporting, and record-keeping.
• Relevant diploma or degree in logistics, operations, or a related field; prior experience in transport or operations management is highly preferred.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transport regulations.

• Experience managing school transportation operations.

• Understanding of student safety and transport compliance norms.

• 2 to 4 years of experience in transport management, facility maintenance, or school administration.

Preferred Candidate:

• Candidates currently residing in or near Hosur, Tamil Nadu will be preferred.
