Job Description Ford Motor Company seeks a highly skilled and experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Data Cloud Developer to join our CRM team within the Global Marketing Operations Department. This pivotal role is instrumental in bridging marketing strategy with technical execution, translating visions into automated workflows, and leveraging customer data to design engaging, personalized customer experiences across digital channels. You will manage the full lifecycle of marketing campaign development, from technical design and implementation to deployment, testing, and optimization. This includes building and activating segments within Salesforce Data Cloud and orchestrating sophisticated automation workflows in SFMC using advanced SQL, AMP script, and Server-Side JavaScript. This position demands deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and close collaboration with marketing strategists, designers, data analysts, and cross-functional teams. Our CRM team supports business partners across the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina, as well as FordPass, Lincoln Way, eCommerce, and Ford Customer Service Division teams. Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy complex marketing campaigns and automated customer journeys using SFMC tools (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder). Design, build, and activate customer segments within Salesforce Data Cloud to enable highly targeted marketing campaigns. Write, test, and optimize dynamic content with AMP script and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS) for personalized emails and landing pages. Develop responsive email templates, landing pages, and web forms for optimal rendering across devices. Manage and optimize data extensions, contact models, and audience segmentation using expert-level SQL queries for targeted outreach and data manipulation within SFMC. Integrate SFMC with other platforms (Salesforce Sales Cloud, external databases, CRM systems) via APIs (REST, SOAP). Collaborate closely with marketing strategists, designers, and analysts to gather requirements and deliver robust, end-to-end marketing technology solutions. Perform quality control testing, peer reviews, and thorough troubleshooting to ensure campaign accuracy, deliverability, and optimal performance across all channels. Monitor campaign performance, analyze key metrics, and implement A/B testing strategies for continuous optimization of customer engagement and return on investment (ROI). Ensure strict compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM) and email deliverability best practices. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, campaign templates, and reusable assets to promote efficiency and consistency. Stay current with the latest email marketing trends, browser capabilities, multimedia standards, and new features within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud ecosystem. Recommend and implement process improvements to ensure the highest quality output and operational efficiency. Actively strive to become a Subject Matter Expert in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud development and delivery best practices. Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or similar marketing automation role. Proven experience as a developer or engineer with Salesforce Data Cloud (formerly Customer Data Platform - CDP). Expert proficiency in SFMC modules: Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, Contact Builder. Expert-level SQL skills, with demonstrated ability to write complex queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) within SFMC. Strong command of AMP script and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS) for dynamic content and advanced personalization. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for responsive email and landing page development. Demonstrated experience with API integrations (REST, SOAP) for SFMC. Solid understanding of data modeling, data extensions, segmentation, and subscriber management in SFMC. Experience in building personalized email content and designing customer journeys. Solid understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CAN-SPAM) and email deliverability best practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication, able to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Self-starter with high initiative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer Certification and/or Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant Certification highly desired.
