About the Role
As the Business Development Manager, you won't simply manage sales.
You'll build them.
This role is responsible for expanding Shroomery's customer base across B2B, retail, quick commerce, and e-commerce while ensuring smooth coordination between customer orders and internal operations.
You'll work directly with leadership to identify new growth opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, launch digital sales channels, and create scalable sales processes.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Business Development
- Identify and acquire new customers across restaurants, cafés, hotels, premium retailers, distributors, food manufacturers, and institutional buyers.
- Build long-term relationships with chefs, procurement teams, retailers, and business owners.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, market research, industry events, and referrals.
- Negotiate commercial terms and successfully close new business opportunities.
- Represent Shroomery professionally at industry events and customer meetings.
Sales Management
- Own the complete sales pipeline from lead generation to order fulfilment and post-sales relationship management.
- Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and pricing recommendations.
- Follow up on customer enquiries and negotiations to drive timely closures.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and revenue projections.
- Monitor sales performance against monthly and quarterly targets.
- Work closely with Operations, Packaging, Logistics, and Finance to ensure seamless order execution.
Order Coordination
- Compile and verify daily customer orders.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Packaging, Logistics, and Finance teams.
- Ensure customer commitments are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Resolve order-related issues proactively.
E-commerce & Quick Commerce
- Manage Shroomery's D2C sales channels.
- Oversee product listings across online marketplaces.
- Build and manage relationships with quick-commerce platforms.
- Optimise product listings for visibility and conversion.
- Monitor pricing, promotions, customer reviews, and platform performance.
Market Development
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
- Track competitor activity, pricing, and emerging trends.
- Recommend new products, customer segments, and sales strategies.
- Support new product launches with effective go-to-market planning.
Sales Operations & CRM
- Manage and maintain the CRM system, ensuring accurate tracking of leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
- Monitor pipeline progress and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Generate reports on sales performance, conversion rates, and customer trends.
- Analyse data to improve revenue, retention, and efficiency.
- Continuously refine CRM processes to enhance productivity and visibility.

You're comfortable switching between strategy and execution. One moment you might be pitching to a restaurant chain, the next you're reviewing online sales performance or coordinating a complex customer order.
Most importantly, you believe growth comes from understanding customers, solving problems, and creating long-term relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Agriculture, Food Technology, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Key Account Management, or Channel Sales.
- Experience in FMCG, food, agriculture, retail, horeca, or consumer products is preferred.
- Experience working with modern trade, distributors, or online marketplaces will be an advantage.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, CRM systems, and sales reporting tools.
Location
This role is based on our farm in Manesar and requires travel for customer meetings, business development, trade events, and visits to the farm whenever operational coordination is required.
