Sales & Business Development Lead
ZocialOne
Job Description
Sales & Business Development Lead ZocialOne | Hyderabad / Remote India | 4+ Relevant Years | Full-time
About ZocialOne
ZocialOne is an AI-powered Growth Marketing platform for businesses. One platform to create, post, schedule, reply, and analyze across 7 social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, and Google Business Profile.
At the core of ZocialOne is Zoe, an autonomous AI marketing agent that handles the complete social media marketing lifecycle for businesses: research, strategy, content creation (images, videos, copy), scheduling, publishing, inbox management, community engagement, analytics, competitive intelligence, and continuous optimization. Zoe interacts through text and voice, remembers brand context across sessions, and serves real enterprise clients in production today.
Everything Zoe does is measured against four business outcomes: Visibility (reach more people), Engagement (turn views into interactions), Leads (convert attention into action), and Revenue (turn leads into customers). The agent is not built to be clever. It is built to deliver results.
We have early revenue, a sharpening product, and a founding team that moves fast. We need someone to build the revenue engine from the ground up, not inherit one. There is no playbook. You will write it.
What You'll Do
- Full-cycle sales. Prospect, pitch, demo, negotiate, close. You own the deal from first contact to signed agreement. You find the lead, you run the demo, you close the deal, you onboard the customer.
- Inbound conversion. We generate leads through paid and organic channels. You own the full funnel from lead to closed deal. Work with marketing to improve CAC, lead quality, and conversion rates at every stage. You will know your outreach, reply, demo, trial, and paid numbers by heart.
- Outbound pipeline building. When inbound isn't enough, you scale the pipeline yourself. LinkedIn DMs, WhatsApp messages, cold calls, walk-ins, workshop hosting, trade show networking. You don't wait for leads to come to you, you go find them.
- Partnership architecture. Identify, approach, and close business partnerships with companies that serve our target customers: restaurant service providers, accounting platforms, digital payment companies, franchise networks, and vertical marketplaces. Structure co-sell, rev-share, and referral agreements end-to-end.
- CRM and sales operations. Our CRM (Zoho) is already set up. You operate it daily: manage pipeline stages, set follow-up tasks, build reports, configure automations, and refine lead scoring. What you build and optimize is what the growing team inherits.
- Ground-level intelligence. Feed product and marketing with real insights from customer and partner conversations. You are the company's ears in the market. Every lost deal teaches us something.
- Partner nurturing. Onboard and manage key partners post-signing to ensure activation, mutual value, and long-term retention.
What You'll Need
- Personal selling track record. You have personally closed deals. Not managed people who close. Not built strategy decks about closing. You, on the phone, in the meeting, on WhatsApp, have convinced a business owner to pay, handled their objections, and gotten the signature. We will ask for specifics: deal names, ticket sizes, timelines, objections.
- SaaS or subscription sales. Experience selling products in the ₹2,000 to ₹15,000/month range. You understand the buyer psychology at this price point. We have both small businesses and enterprise customers. You need to be comfortable selling to a salon owner in town and presenting to a corporate marketing head in the same week.
- Zero-to-one experience. You have been in a situation with limited pipeline and limited inbound, and you created revenue by personally picking up the phone, walking into businesses, or DMing prospects on LinkedIn and WhatsApp. You've felt the chaos of early-stage and you thrived.
- Demo-to-close ability. You can run a product demo personally and close on the same call. SMB SaaS means show value, handle objection, close. 1-2 interactions, not 6-month sales cycles.
- Data-driven, outcome-obsessed. You don't just track activity (calls made, emails sent, meetings booked). You track outcomes: conversion rates at every funnel stage, win rates, average deal size, sales cycle length, CAC, and revenue per channel. You know the difference between being busy and being effective. When numbers drop, you diagnose which stage broke, not blame the market. We will ask for your personal conversion rates. If you don't track them, you don't improve them.
- Outreach fluency. You write your own cold emails, WhatsApp messages, LinkedIn DMs, and follow-up sequences. You can write a compelling message in 2 minutes that a restaurant owner would reply to.
- CRM fluency. You live inside CRM every day. You manage deals, move pipeline stages, set follow-ups, and read reports. You know what Convert, Qualify, and Close mean as CRM actions, not just concepts.
- Digital marketing literacy. Fluent in CAC, lead scoring, conversion rate optimisation, and funnel mechanics. You can speak the language of the marketing team and improve the lead handoff.
- Partnership structuring. Ability to architect agreements: rev-share, co-marketing, referral, and co-sell. Not just facilitate introductions. You think in deal mechanics and mutual incentives.
Nice to have:
- Experience selling social media or marketing technology products
- WhatsApp selling experience (Interakt, AISensy, Gallabox)
- Existing network in restaurants, retail, franchise, fintech, or professional services
- Hindi + English + one regional language
Who You Are
- Seller, not manager. You don't build PowerPoint decks about sales strategy. You pick up the phone and sell. Your first instinct when revenue is low is not "let me hire someone." It's "let me call 50 more people today."
- Relentlessly resourceful. You find the right person, the right angle, the right timing. When inbound slows down, you don't complain. You open LinkedIn, you open WhatsApp, you walk into a business with a tablet. You never run out of ideas.
- Scrappy and budget-independent. You don't need a ₹10 lakh marketing budget to start selling. Your best quarter might start with ₹0 spend and a Google Maps search for local businesses.
- Data-disciplined. You think in conversion rates and revenue outcomes, not activity counts. "I made 175 calls today" means nothing to you without knowing what converted. You track your funnel religiously and you can tell us your numbers from memory.
- Commercially sharp. You understand unit economics, deal velocity, and know when to push and when to walk away. You sell on value, not on discounts.
- Hungry for equity upside. You see the early-stage risk as an opportunity. You'd rather earn more through commission you personally generated than take a higher guaranteed base where you manage someone else's pipeline.
- Independent. You take a deal from first contact to signed agreement with weekly syncs, not daily hand-holding.
Not a Fit If
- You've never personally closed a deal (only managed people who close)
- You need a fully built pipeline before you can sell
- You track activity (calls made) but not outcomes (conversion rates)
- You can't run a product demo without a pre-sales engineer
- You wait for inbound leads instead of creating your own pipeline when needed
- You sell on discounts instead of value
Compensation
- Base Salary: Competitive for stage, startup-honest
- Commission: Uncapped, performance-driven
- Quarterly Bonus: For stretch targets
- Equity: ESOP consideration after 12 months of proven performance
- Growth Path: Head of Revenue track
Your total comp is a function of your closing ability. The structure rewards execution, not tenure.
