To execute all safety related policies at the Site, with the objective to identify, resolve/ mitigate or escalate key risks as per overall safety policies, regulations & standards. List of responsibilities attached to the role are documented below. SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
Responsibilities
- Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Follow established safety policies, processes, standard operating procedures and provide support in the interpretation and implementation of safety related policies to the line management
- Assist in the implementation of new initiatives/ projects as per the established policies to meet the future requirements of the site
- Participate in the first and third-party health and safety audit systems for their designated area/ plant, in collaboration with Lead Safety
- Participate in external industry bodies, trade association, global forums and keep self abreast with leading practices and trends in order to contribute towards continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures
- Operations
- Conduct and analyse safety observations at their designated area/ plant and suggest actions to modify behaviours
- Maintain log book, occurrence book and other shift related documentation to ensure adherence to safety compliances
- Carryout investigation of all safety related incidents at their designated area/ plant, conduct root cause analysis and identify action plans to avert such future incidents
- Participate in risk management programs such as control measures identification, incident investigation, etc. to manage key risks at their designated area/ plant
- Create MIS reports, safety updates, findings, and performance indices to the area/ plant management so as to ensure awareness towards health and safety
- Track the leading and lagging safety metrics for their designated area/ plant and drive suggested improvement initiatives
- Prepare training modules/ programs and organize safety awareness training to safety executive/ their designated site employees to enhance awareness/ capability pertaining to safety
- Conduct/ Review Nearmiss Analysis and propose actions to Line Management on focus area/improvement actions
- Steer and co-ordinate for effective Plant level safety committee meetings

- Employee satisfaction scores for safety policies
- # of reportable injuries
- # of Penalties due to non-compliance
- % safety training completion
- Emergency Response time
- Safety audit score

- Education Qualifications: Bachelors in Engineering/ Science in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Instrumentation/ Chemistry
- Experience (Must Have & Good to Have): 3-7 years of experience in process industry site operations/ maintenance with 2-3 years of experience of handling HSE
- Knowledge of safety related compliances
