Position: Retail Merchandiser – Category & Order Management

Location: Gurgaon

As they continue to expand their retail footprint, they are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially driven Retail Merchandiser to ensure their boutiques are impeccably merchandised with the right assortment, inventory, and replenishment strategy to deliver an exceptional luxury retail experience.


Role Purpose

The Retail Merchandiser – Category & Order Management will be responsible for planning and executing merchandise strategies across all retail boutiques, ensuring optimum stock availability, seamless order execution, and strong category performance. The role requires close collaboration with Design, Production, Retail Operations, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Store Leadership to align inventory with business priorities while maintaining the exclusivity and premium positioning of the brand.


Key Responsibilities

Merchandise & Category Planning


  • Drive category-wise merchandise planning across all retail boutiques based on seasonal launches, client demand, regional preferences, and historical sales.
  • Monitor sales performance, sell-through, stock cover, and category productivity to recommend replenishment and assortment optimization.
  • Partner with Retail Leadership to ensure each boutique reflects the brand's merchandising standards and commercial objectives.
  • Support assortment planning for new collections, festive launches, bridal seasons, and exclusive capsule collections.


Order Management & Execution


  • Raise, monitor, and manage purchase and replenishment orders across categories.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Atelier, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure timely product availability.
  • Track order fulfilment, delivery schedules, production delays, and allocation priorities.
  • Ensure seamless product movement from warehouse to boutiques while maintaining inventory accuracy.


Inventory Optimization


  • Maintain healthy inventory levels across stores while preserving the exclusivity associated with luxury retail.
  • Recommend stock transfers between boutiques based on demand and client requirements.
  • Monitor slow-moving and ageing inventory and propose action plans in partnership with Retail and Merchandising teams.
  • Support physical inventory counts and ensure ERP inventory accuracy.


Retail Performance & Commercial Insights


  • Analyse store-wise and category-wise sales performance to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly dashboards covering sales, inventory, replenishment, order status, stock ageing, and key merchandising KPIs.
  • Provide commercial insights to Buying and Leadership teams for future assortment planning.


Cross-functional Collaboration


Partner closely with:

  • Design and Collection teams during seasonal launches.
  • Production and Atelier teams to align inventory with manufacturing timelines.
  • Retail Operations and Boutique Managers to understand customer demand.
  • Warehouse and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Support boutique openings, exhibitions, trunk shows, fashion weeks, and special client events through effective merchandise planning.


Ideal Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Management, Retail Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • A postgraduate qualification from institutions such as NIFT, Pearl Academy, FDDI, or equivalent will be an advantage.


Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in Retail Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Buying Support, Category Management, or Inventory Planning.
  • Prior experience with luxury, premium fashion, designer couture, bridal, or lifestyle brands is highly preferred.
